SPEAKER : RHIAN LINECAR

Yn hanu o Bwllheli, rydw i wedi byw yng Nghaerwynt am flynyddoedd ac yma yng Nghaerdydd ers 2000. Athrawes oeddwn i, wedyn gweithio fel Swyddog Ffydd a Threfn i Cytûn: Eglwysi Ynghyd yng Nghymru ac yna, ar fy ymddeoliad, cael fy ordeinio yn yr Esgobaeth hon. Nawr rwy’n Gurad Cynorthwyol yn rhannu fy amser rhwng dwy Eglwys yng nghanol dinas Caerdydd – Eglwys Dewi Sant ac Eglwys St Ioan Fedyddiwr. Rwy’n wraig, yn fam ac yn Nain, yn hoff o gerddoriaeth ac o arddio a’r hyn sy’n ‘rhoi bywyd’ i mi yw cerdded hyd greigiau a thraethau ein gwlad odidog yng nghwmni fy nghreawdwr.

I was born in Pwllheli; I lived in Winchester for many years and I’ve lived in Cardiff since 2000. I was a teacher, then I worked as Cytûn: Churches Together in Wales’ Faith and Order Officer and then, on my retirement, I was ordained in this diocese. I am an Assistant Curate serving two churches in Cardiff city centre – St John the Baptist and Eglwys Dewi Sant. I’m a wife, a mother and a Nain; I like listening to music and gardening and I’m happiest when walking the cliffs and beaches of our glorious country in the company of my Creator.

THEME OF THIS WORKSHOP

Cerrig a meini’n treftadaeth (The stones and rocks of our inheritance)

‘O ble ‘dy chi’n dod?’ Yn aml hwn yw’r cwestiwn cyntaf wrth gychwyn sgwrs yma yng Nghymru. Pam tybed?

Cyfle i ymdawelu ac i fyfyrio yn dilyn cyfnod o adlewyrchu ar dreftadaeth, ar y graig y’ch naddwyd ohoni ac ar y chwarel lle’ch cloddiwyd (Eseia 51:1,2) ac ar ddylanwad y graig honno y’ch naddwyd ohoni arnoch chi fel person.

Dewch â charreg sy’n golygu rhywbeth i chi, ogydd; cewch rannu’r rheswm dros eich dewis neu ddim, fel y mynnwch.

‘Where do you come from?’ Quite often this is an opening question when striking up a conversation here in Wales. Have you ever wondered why?

A time of quiet meditation preceded by an opportunity to reflect on inheritance, on the rock from which you were hewn and the quarry from which you were dug (Isaiah 51:1,2) and on how being hewn from this rock has shaped you as a person.

Please bring a stone which has some significance for you; you may share its significance or not, as you choose.
